L-Sit Strength Progression

Develop the strength and active flexibility needed for a stronger L-sit with this compression-focused training session. By combining mobility drills, hip flexor strengthening, core exercises, and supported skill progressions, this workout improves your ability to lift and control your legs while maintaining a stable upper-body support position. Perfect for beginners and intermediate athletes looking to build a solid foundation for L-sits and other compression-based calisthenics skills.

Overview

Build a Strong Foundation

This workout progresses from compression mobility into active strength exercises before finishing with supported L-sit skill work. Begin by improving hamstring mobility and pelvic positioning, then focus on slow, controlled leg lifts to strengthen the hip flexors and core through their full range of motion. During the support and skill sections, prioritize quality holds with straight arms and active shoulders over longer durations. Rest enough to maintain strong technique, and perform this session 2–3 times per week to steadily improve your L-sit strength and compression capacity.
