Develop stronger, more stable pushing mechanics with this beginner-friendly upper body strength workout. Combining push-up variations, overhead pressing, dips, and shoulder stability exercises, this session strengthens the muscles responsible for pressing while improving body control and joint stability. Whether your goal is better push-ups, stronger handstands, or progressing toward advanced calisthenics skills, this workout provides the essential strength foundation.

Overview

Build a Strong Foundation

This workout begins with a dynamic warm-up to prepare your wrists, shoulders, and scapular muscles for pressing. The main training focuses on controlled pushing exercises that build strength through multiple movement patterns while reinforcing proper shoulder positioning and core stability. Prioritize full range of motion and controlled repetitions over speed, and stop each set with 1–2 quality reps left in the tank. Perform this workout 2–3 times per week to steadily improve upper-body pushing strength and movement quality.
