Build a deeper, more controlled pancake by improving hip mobility, hamstring and adductor flexibility, compression strength, and active control through your range.
This beginner-to-intermediate pancake workout combines mobility, loaded flexibility, compression strength, and end-range work. Instead of relying only on passive stretching, you’ll build the strength and control needed to actively access and maintain a deeper pancake position.
Use this workout 1–2 times per week as a dedicated pancake or flexibility session. It can also complement your lower-body mobility, press handstand, or compression training. For best results, complete it when your lower body is relatively fresh so you can actively control your deepest ranges.
Think about folding from your hips, not your spine. Prioritize an active forward hinge with a long torso before trying to get your chest closer to the floor. Depth will improve as your hip range and control develop.
